Gasoline up, diesel down in first week of December

MANILA - Oil firms are implementing another round of pump price adjustments on Tuesday, Dec. 3.

SHELL effective 6 a.m.: 

Gasoline    P0.90/liter  increase

Diesel         P0.20/liter decrease

Kerosene   P0.40/liter decrease

Other oil firms are expected to make similar announcements within the day.

The Department of Energy earlier explained that a global oversupply of fuel is expected in the first quarter of 2025, along with a low demand.

For the rest of 2024, DOE said oil prices are likely to decrease due to lower overall demand.

On Tuesday, December 3, oil firms in Manila, including Shell, announced new pump price adjustments. Shell's adjustments are as follows:

Gasoline: P0.90 per liter increase

Diesel: P0.20 per liter decrease

Kerosene: P0.40 per liter decrease

Other oil firms are expected to follow suit with similar announcements throughout the day.

The Department of Energy (DOE) previously explained that a global oversupply of fuel is anticipated in the first quarter of 2025, along with low demand. For the remainder of 2024, the DOE indicated that oil prices are likely to decrease due to lower overall demand.
