Rufa Mae Quinto's lawyer, Atty. Mary Louise Reyes, confirmed to ABS-CBN News on Monday evening that an arrest warrant has been issued for the comedienne.
The warrant is linked to cases filed by investors against Dermacare, a skincare company.
Atty. Reyes clarified that Rufa Mae is not facing a large-scale estafa complaint or a syndicated estafa complaint. Instead, she has been charged with 14 counts of violating Section 8 of the Securities Regulation Code.
In a social media post, Reyes mentioned that an official statement will be released on Tuesday, December 3.
